Motor Vehicle Amnesty Event

May 6 - 8, 2024

The City of Beatrice Community Development Department announces a Motor Vehicle Amnesty Event in conjunction with Beatrice’s Clean City Event. The event will take place May 6 - 8, 2024. This service is available to residential properties located within the Beatrice City Limits. The purpose of the program is to assist citizens in ridding their property of inoperable or junked vehicles.

Acceptable Motorized Vehicles:

The Community Development Department will remove up to two (2) large vehicles and up to four (4) small vehicles per registered address.

Large vehicles include:

  • Cars, trucks, and SUVs
  • Boats with or without trailers
  • RVs

Small vehicles include:

  • Motorcycles
  • ATVs
  • Riding Lawnmowers

Program Guidelines:

To participate in the Motor Vehicle Amnesty Event, you must register no later than noon Friday, May 3, 2024, either online at the link below or by calling the City of Beatrice at (402) 228-5200.

clear title must be delivered and signed over to the City of Beatrice for all cars, trucks, SUVs, boats, trailers, RVs, and motorcycles. All titles must be hand-delivered to the Community Development Office, 205 N. 4th Street, no later than noon on Friday, May 3, 2024.

The City of Beatrice reserves the right to refuse a vehicle if it is not within the intent of the program. Vehicles will not be removed from any residence that fails to register and/or deliver and sign over a clear title by the deadlines referenced above.

Motor Vehicle Placement:

Motor vehicles must be accessible for towing. Vehicles will not be removed from garages, carports, or indoor structures. 

Motor Vehicle Amnesty Schedule:

The City has partnered with local towing companies to remove inoperable or junked vehicles throughout the City according to the following schedule:

Monday, May 6, 2024: Residences east of 6th Street, south of Dorsey Street, north of Court Street, and west of 19th Street

Tuesday, May 7, 2024: Residences in Hoyle's Trailer Park and all residences west of 6th Street

Wednesday, May 8, 2024: Residences south of Court Street, east of 6th Street, and east of 19th Street
