Veterans Memorial Park

Flags lining Veterans Memorial Park, Beatrice, NE

Veterans Memorial Park is a beautiful memorial dedicated to the many military men and women of the United States who have served our country. The park is located at 1050 South 6th Street in Beatrice (just south of the Big Blue River on Hwy 77). The main feature of the park is a star with its five (5) points symbolizing the five (5) military branches: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, and Navy. At each point of the star flies a flag representing its branch of service. The center of the star plaza provides the stage for the United States flag. All flags are accentuated with night lighting.

Walls of Honor contain over 1,500 inscriptions of veterans who have served our country. A WWII sculpture was installed during the Summer of 2009 dedicated to all soldiers with a special tribute to Nebraska National Guard Company C. Additional sculptures are in the planning stages.

In part, the beauty of the site is the large majestic trees. The tree arboretum provides an additional opportunity to educate the public on both historical and botanical facts.

Veterans Memorial Park was established in 2005 by the Beatrice Rotary Foundation. If you would like to purchase an inscription or donate to the Veterans Memorial Park project, please contact the Beatrice Rotary Foundation.
