The Board of Public Works provides for electric, water, and sewer services.

The Office of the Board of Public Works is responsible for the accurate billing of usage and collections for the Electric, Water, Sewer, and City Garbage Services.

The Electric Department services all the power lines. They also trim trees that interfere with power lines.

The Water Department makes sure the water supply stays up to federal standards.

The Water Pollution Control Department takes care of any sewer backups. They coordinate with the recycling center to do composting of yard wastes.

The Street Department takes care of necessary street repairs and cleans the streets. They also coordinate Clean City Pickup with Beatrice Clean City for the pickup of large items every April.

Garbage Service is mandatory in Beatrice. The City of Beatrice's Public Properties Department contracts with Sanitary Garbage for garbage services.

They bill for these services, plus curb-side garbage service, which is managed through the city's Public Properties Department.
